Dogs and pets on buses

As of 1 November, dogs and pets are allowed on all bus routes in Troms County. Pets are defined as dogs, cats, guinea pigs and mice. However, the driver may refuse pets if they cause inconvenience for other passengers. In case of allergies, the driver can ask passengers to wait for the next departure.

Rules
- Passengers are permitted to bring dogs on the express boat.
- A fare equivalent to the child fare applies (up to a maximum of NOK 60)
- Animals are permitted subject to available space and at the discretion of the crew.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your dog or pet is not a nuisance to other passengers.
- You are responsible for any damage/injury your dog or pet inflicts on others.
Where should the animal be placed?
- You have to place your pet in their own cage at an assigned spot, ask the crew if you are unsure where it is.
- It is not allowed to keep pets with fur in lounges or seating areas, regardless of the animal`s size.
- Service dogs and therapy dogs are not allowed in lounges or seating areas.
- Guide dogs and police dogs are allowed in lounges and seating areas.
Route 2
- There are two wire travel cages for dogs in the baggage area at the back of the boat.
- As an alternative, you are welcome bring and use your own suitable cage, crate or animal bag.
- The baggage areas are heated and are situated by the entrance doors and toilet area.
- There is no seating in the baggage area.
Routes 3 and 4
- The baggage area is heated and illuminated.
- In the summer, you may bring your own cage dogs and place your dog outside on the aft deck.
Route 6
- There are two dog cages in the baggage room. You can place your dog here during the crossing, but you must sit in the cabin.
- There is no seating by the dog cages.
- The baggage area is heated and illuminated.

Practical information about the baggage area and cages for animals
- Animals are placed behind the cabin out of the consideration to passengers who suffer from allergies.
- If the number of dogs exceeds the number of cages, you must provide your own travel cage.
- The boats may not transport more dogs than there are cages for.
- If there is not space for more dogs, you must wait for the next departure.

Not permitted in the lounge
- Pets with fur is not allowed in lounges or seating areas, out of consideration for passengers with allergies.
- Regardless if the pet is placed in an approved travel bag or held on the passengers lap.
- Service and therapy dogs are not allowed in lounges and seating areas.
- Guide dogs and police dogs are allowed in lounges and seating areas.
