Ticket inspection and fines

🛂 General

• You are responsible for ensuring that you have a valid ticket and valid identification.
• If you are travelling on a discounted ticket, you must also be able to present documentation proving your eligibility for the discount in order for the ticket to be valid.
• If you purchased your ticket in advance, you must activate it before boarding.
• If you are unable to present a valid ticket during your journey, you may be issued a penalty fine during a ticket inspection.

🎒 School Transport

• For students entitled to free school transport, the school travel card serves as a valid ticket.
• The card is limited to two journeys per day.

🪪 Identification and Documentation

• To receive an age-based discount, passengers must present a valid government-issued ID.
• Passengers receiving disability benefits (under the age of 67) must present documentation from NAV in order to receive the discount and must carry this documentation during the journey.
• You must purchase a full-price ticket if you are unable to present valid identification.
• If you are unable to present valid identification during the journey, the difference between the requested discount and the full fare will not be refunded afterwards.

☝️ Valid Identification

• Driving licence (including a digital driving licence)
• National ID card or passport issued by the police
• Bank card with photo
• Military ID card or military service record book
• Concessionary card issued by NAV
• Foreign senior citizen card/concessionary card
• Identification card issued by the Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted
• Accompanying certificate

🧾 Penalty fines

• Adults aged 18 and over pay NOK 1200 if the penalty fine is paid on the spot, or NOK 1500 if payment is made by invoice.
  • If the ticket price exceeds NOK 750, the penalty fine will be twice the ticket price, with a minimum charge of NOK 1500.
• Passengers under the age of 18 pay NOK 1200, regardless of the payment method.
• The use of a false or forged ticket results in a NOK 2600 penalty fine and may lead to prosecution under Section 403 of the Norwegian Penal Code.
