Adapted school transport is for pupils who cannot get to and from school using the ordinary public transport service. This service is for disabled and temporarily ill or injured pupils. 

Our rules

Students who need adapted school transport apply and get their application processed in the same way as ordinary school transport.

  • There is no minimum distance requirement for disabled and temporarily ill or injured pupils.
  • The need for transport on medical grounds must be confirmed by a doctor, psychologist, PPU or another specialist.
  • The transport only applies between school, home and relief home.
  • The transport only applies on school days.

How is the transport arranged?

The transport is normally by taxi but can also be organised by using your own car and receiving a mileage allowance.

The schools are responsible for applying. If you are a parent or guardian, please contact the school.

How does the application process work?

Applications for adapted school transport

  1. The schools send applications for adapted school transport through the school transport portal. Applications must include a medical certificate (PDF, 838 kB) from a specialist or doctor.  
  2. When the application has been approved, the schools fill in the order form that describes the details of the adapted school transport (timetable, addresses, relief and schedule, etc.).
